Its difficult to categorize when it comes to movies like would you rather. Of course it’s a horror/drama but it’s the kind of movie that makes you want to scream out of frustration and also sulk hard in the end.
In Would You Rather, Iris is desperate for money after her brother gets sick so she accepts a dinner invitation from the mysterious Shepard Lambrick. She tries to get him to pay for her brother’s medical bills, but the evening becomes a cruel game where the guests have to choose between horrifying tasks, each one more violent than the last. Movies like Would You Rather have a twist at the end that will leave you gasping. If you enjoy psychological torture, movies like Would You Rather include Saw and Truth or Dare, which are equally as dark and explore human desperation.
Horror movie endings are supposed to be cliffhangers, but would you rather movie ending is on a whole other, more disturbing level. Would You Rather‘s climactic twist leaves viewers reeling. In the final round, Iris must kill her opponent Lucas in order to win. In order to save her sick brother, she reluctantly kills him and walks away with the trophy. But, when she goes home, she finds her brother killed himself. All her sacrifice was for nothing, leaving a painful reminder of what desperation can cost.
